A. Celli’s latest rewinder Tandem offers nonwovens producers affordable flexibility. By optimizing production and incrementing line productivity, Tandem, which functions as an additional rewinder external to the production line, manages shifts in volume, diameter and cuttings formats while guaranteeing extra capacity at peak production. Marco Nottoli, sales and customer service director, says Tandem answers the need for production optimization and increased line effiiciency, which is a primary need identified among its customers. “The new slitter-rewinder answers to both demands, reducing the minimum investment,” he says. Tandem was developed to process a range of nonwovens technologies including spunmelt, spunlace and meltblown in weights from 10-250 gsm. “We got several requests from customers for slitter-rewinders for a more basic configuration compared to what ACN is normally supplying but keeping the same quality of the finished reels,” Nottoli adds. Our target is to supply a slitter-rewinder 20-25% cheaper compared to the more basic slitter-rewinder in A. Celli production range.” This stand-alone slitter-rewinder added to production lines already equipped with master roll winder and slitter-rewinder from Celli, provides the line with additional flexibility to handle special production runs in terms of diameter and slitting widths and allows for additional production capacity during peak production times. A. Celli has been making machinery for the nonwovens industry for more than 70 years and is a recognized leader in winding and slitting equipment where it has a special focus on lightweight fabrics and high speed production. Other areas of strength at the company include laminating, printing and packaging equipment as well as airlaid forming lines.
